In the 1930s, the Catalina Foothills began to see residential development, and Joesler designed a number of the residences. Residents of the Foothills formed the Catalina Foothills School District in 1931 to serve the school-aged population in the area. Murphey sold the school system land on East River Road and North Campbell Avenue for the first school building, which was built by Joesler. The administration of the school system is still housed in this structure.
